Facebook fans help classic car dealer recover stolen cars

19 cars were taken from Orlando Classic Cars, 9 already have been recovered

-

Several of the cars stolen earlier this week from Orlando Classic Cars storage facility already have been recovered, according to news reports from Florida.

On Monday, the collector car dealership reported that 19 vehicles had been stolen, and in addition to notifying the sheriff’s office, it posted photos of those cars with their vehicle identification numbers on its Facebook page.

Almost immediately, a local resident spotted the 1962 Chevrolet Corvette, discovered in an apartment complex parking lot 13 miles from the warehouse, and the sheriff’s department found a 1990 Buick Reatta.

“The cars appear to be stashed all around the neighborhood,” Orlando Classic Cars owner Dave Murray was quoted.

According to the local Fox television station, 9 of the cars had been recovered as of Thursday. Like the Corvette, several were found in apartment-building parking lots.
