You never know quite what to expect as you wander among the cars at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance | Howard Koby photos

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is not only a showing of automotive excellence but of people adorned in their most stylish apparel to compliment the vintage vehicles arrayed on the shoreline of Stillwater Cove.

This luxe lifestyle event becomes an elegant fashion show of period attire and flamboyant hats called “fascinators” that are clipped to the coiffure.

Couples, families and passionate auto enthusiasts with their pets stroll the lush 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links where this year more than 200 classic cars displayed by owners from 17 countries presented a field of automotive elegance.

The fashion show was rather elegant as well.
