Mecum Auctions concludes its 2018 sales calendar December 6-8 with its second visit of the year to the Kansas City Convention Center, where it plans to offer around 700 vehicles for bidding.
Featured consignments include a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 2005 Ford GT, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS and a 1929 Ford Model A roadster.
The Boss 429 reportedly is all original, wears white paint and is believed to have been driven only 18,000 miles since new. The Ford GT also shows low mileage — only 870 miles — and is one of only 8 for ’05 in black with the stripe-delete option. The restored Chevelle has a 396cid/350 horsepower engine linked to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and features a Gobi beige and saddle interior. The Model A has undergone a frame-off restoration and is being offered at no reserve, Mecum said.
Additional “star” cars on the docket include a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1, a 1950 Oldsmobile 98, a 1933 Ford street rod and a 1969 AMC AMX.
While the second visit to Kansas City this year by Mecum, the company’s 2019 auction calendar will include only one stop in the city. Instead of its spring visit, Mecum will stage its inaugural Phoenix auction in March 2019.
