Not only is the Summer Sale, scheduled for June 16 at the Carlisle Expo Center in Pennsylvania, new for Carlisle Auctions, but the event will operate under a “free unless sold” guarantee for consignors. The policy applies only to cars 25 years of age or older.
Carlisle Auctions said the new format is designed to enhance the festival atmosphere of the event. Another is free admission.
“The core of the day of course, is cars and trucks crossing the auction block,” the company said in its news release. “There are 200+ slated. These rides span nearly 100 years of automotive history and many will cross the block without a reserve price.
“While others will carry a reserve, they are also the high-end, high-caliber cars.”
Featured vehicles on the docket include a low-mileage 2006 Ford GT, a 1966 Shelby GT350H Mustang, and a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible.
“What makes it more of a festival and community event are the add-ons,” the company added. “While generations of classics are slated, future collectibles will be on-site too.”
A new products showcase is to be anchored by Family Ford of Carlisle, Carlisle Cadillac/Buick/GMC and Lawrence Chevrolet of Mechanicsburg, which will display their newest vehicles.
The auction house said vendors, food trucks and local breweries and wineries also will be on site.
