AutoHunter Spotlight: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Split-Window coupe – ‘nuff said

-

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this restored 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe. It is powered by a 340-horsepower 327cid V8 and Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Features include knock-off wheels, power windows, modern AM/FM/cassette radio, and more. Finished in a deep burgundy over a tan vinyl interior, this Split-Window comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

During the restoration process, the body was finished in Merlot Metallic. Features include rocker trim, driver’s side mirror, and rear antenna.

A set of 15-inch aluminum knock-off turbine-style wheels is wrapped in 265/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown redline radials.

The cabin is furnished with a Saddle vinyl interior. Features include power windows with manual vent windows, manual steering, AM/FM/cassette radio upgrade, and console-mounted manual transmission shifter.

The instrument panel consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery. The odometer reads 2,284 miles, though the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

Power is provided by a period-correct 327 backed by an M20 four-speed manual transmission. The selling dealer states that the engine is equipped with the correct components for a proper 340-horsepower small-block. Engine bay features include finned aluminum valve covers, aluminum intake manifold, and chrome air cleaner housing.

This Corvette is equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and rear-drive axle with Positraction. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

The auction for this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe ends Monday, March 4, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (MST)

  1. What a lovely car! I was born in 63 n there wasn’t a whole lot of muscle cars that year but that split window Vette was the best. One day I’ll be the proud owner of one. It will be my casket with Simple Man by Lynard Skynard playing!!! Great color scheme

  2. What a stunning car, I love it!
