Interesting Finds: 1971 Ford Bronco

The Big Oly tribute that could EAT the original

-

Today’s ClassicCars TV feature is a custom 1971 “Big Oly” Ford Bronco tribute. Inspired by Parnelli Jones’ 1969 Big Oly Bronco, this vehicle features a custom chromoly tube frame with 24-karat gold-plated sections and long-travel suspension. Power comes from a 723-horsepower Dart 351 Windsor V8 stroker measuring 438ci paired to a Powerglide two-speed automatic with Gear Vendors overdrive. This replica has a celebrated story of its own, having won numerous awards, appearing in several museum exhibits, and even sharing the stage with the original Big Oly and its more famous driver. When the gavel fell at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction, this Big Oly tribute sold for $165,000.
