In the latest episode of “The Drive with Alan Taylor”, BJ Killeen stops by and maintains that competitors such as Honda and Toyota moving into town made the American manufacturers better vehicle makers. If your a fan of Bond, James Bond that is, they chat about a classic 1964 Aston Martin DB5 going up for auction.
Up next is automotive journalist George Kennedy III who is driving a 2022 Mercedes Benz AMG GLB 35. It is one of the smallest vehicles in the Mercedes SUV line. A three-row sub-compact crossover with 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It’s also got a voice assistant that will help you drive your car. Alan shares that he is also driving a Mercedes Benz M440i, and can’t get over the intuitive learning curve that basically teaches you how to drive it.
Jumping in the passenger seat next is Richard Rawlings, owner of Gas Monkey Garage and star of Fast N Loud. Rawlings says he has been doing a lot of giveaways and his next giveaway is 200,000 buckaroos. Richard explains that he has a few things stirring but first he will be heading to the Isle of Man TT racing. His team and driver Peter Hickman are already there and gearing up for a 37 mile trek around the island.
Closing the show today is automotive journalist Steven Cole Smith. He shares that Marcus Erickson drove a perfect race at the Indy 500. Once he was out front, he wasn’t challenged and it was a dull race until the end. Next he discussed the Monaco Grand Prix.
