Pick of the Day: 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo with very low mileage

The Japanese sports coupe has been upgraded with performance features

-

The Nissan Z has been part of car culture since it was introduced to America as the Datsun 240Z in 1970. Fifty-two years and seven generations later, the iconic Japanese sports car is still going strong as a front-engine and rear-wheel-drive sports coupe for motoring enthusiast.

Nissan has been developing the newest Z for quite some time and it will be available this Spring, but past is prologue and in its previous incarnation, the 300ZX was a proper 2-seat sports car.

Produced from 1984 to 1996 in the United States, the 300ZX was well-received by the motoring press. It was on Car and Driver’s “Ten Best” list seven times and the 1990 model was named Motor Trend’s “Import Car of the Year.”

Finding a Nissan 300ZX is not an odyssey, but locating a low-mileage example can take time and effort. The Pick of the Day is just that, a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo with just 12,932 original miles, a proper example of JDM excitement.

“Offered here is a superbly kept 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo coupe finished in all original Aztec Red over Charcoal Cloth interior,” according to the dealer advertising the car on ClassicCars.com. “Boasting just 3 owners from new, it has been pampered for only 12,932 miles. It sold new from Pioneer Nissan-Datsun in Lubbock, Texas and remained with the original owner thru 2018.”

It’s powered by a 3.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine upgraded with a pair of Garrett AiResearch turbochargers featuring dual intercoolers.  The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission featuring a McLeod Stage I Supremacy Street Tuner clutch. A Megan Racing stainless-steel cat-back exhaust system was installed and all upgraded parts were sourced by Concept Z Performance and professionally installed by Lithgow Automotive, Inc.

This 300ZX has Super HICAS (High Capacity Actively Controlled Steering) rear wheel steering, sport and touring suspension modes, and anti-lock brakes with 4-piston front calipers.

The Charcoal cloth interior features seating for two with bucket seats, an upgraded Sony AM/FM/CD/XM/AUX stereo with Kenwood speakers, and automatic climate control.

The sale of this vehicle includes the original Bose stereo head unit, owner’s manual, spare tire and inflator, and recent service records.

This JDM classic is being offered for $59,900.

  1. For 60K no thanks. Rather spend that towards an American muscle car with better styling & appeal to the majority of muscle car lovers!

  2. Vehicle is more than twice the price of a perfect one. This one is a low milage. There are many out there in the 10 to 20K range.
