Each week, one of the ClassicCars.com Journal editors takes their turn picking the vehicles they find interesting or appealing on the AutoHunter auction docket.
It’s my turn this week, and as I was perusing AutoHunter, I noticed a long list of eye-catching Chevrolets:
1958 Chevrolet Impala
Finished in a two-tone turquoise and black color scheme, this sports coupe caught my eye immediately while perusing the AutoHunter docket.
The seller notes the car underwent a frame-off restoration in which the floor pans were replaced along with the trunk, and that the body is rust-free.
Matching the exterior, the inside is fitted with upholstered tri-tone vinyl and cloth bench seats with an eye-catching striped pattern, a woodgrain trim throughout and a chrome-accented steering wheel.
Power comes from a numbers-matching 283cid Turbo Fire V8 connected to a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission.
1940 Chevrolet Model KC Pickup
This Apple Green pickup was the recipient of a no-expense-spared professional restoration that took 5 years to complete and has been driven just 200 miles since, according to the seller.
The body is accented with a yellow line running around the hood and cab, along with black fenders and sidestep, and features a split-pane windshield with built-in venting, a wood-slatted truck bed, and a mixture of chrome and stainless brightwork throughout.
Under the louvered hood sits a 1960 Chevrolet-sourced 235cid inline-6 connected to the original 4-speed manual transmission.
1965 Chevrolet El Camino
Chevy’s response to the Ford Ranchero was a car-truck hybrid build on an Impala body – the manufacturer named it the El Camino.
This 1965 example finished in dark green wears the “Custom” trim package that shared features from the Chevelle Malibu’s styling ques.
The interior appears to be in great condition, refinished in a tan upholstery over bucket seta. It houses working factory air conditioning, power windows, a tilt steering wheel and an AM/FM radio with cassette player.
It’s powered by a 427cid big-block V8 paired to a 700R-4 4-speed automatic transmission that replaced the original factory-equipped small-block.
1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible
This restored Chevelle Super Sort re-creation was spotlighted on the cover of Chevy Classics magazine in the July 2020 issue and, according to the seller, is in great condition throughout.
The red body wears dual black stripes, a cowl induction hood, a new power-operated black top and Super Sport badging.
Power comes from a 450 horsepower 454cid V8 connected to a 4-speed 700r4 automatic transmission and a posi-traction.
