Fall Carlisle features AACA, ‘Anymotive’ sales

With Hershey canceled, vendors and even the antique car club had a presence at Carlisle

-

More than the weather cooperated this year for a successful Fall Carlisle swap meet at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania. The cancellation of the AACA’s Eastern Division Fall Nationals at Hershey meant that not only did many of that event’s vendors show their wares at Carlisle, but the AACA itself had a presence at the event, using the Carlisle main stage to promote the club’s 2021 schedule.

Other features of the 5-day Fall Carlisle were an auction and “Anymotive vending.”

Fall Carlisle offered a huge array of cars for sale

“Anymotive is a fun phrase coined to call out the vendors and their stuff that might not be car themed but still powered by an engine,” Carlisle Events explained. “This includes (and was seen/sold at the event) items like lawn mowers, coolers, generators, weed whackers, power washers and more.

“These vendors have always been part of the automotive flea market, but for 2020, their stuff meant even more to those who were buying or selling.”

Meanwhile, Carlisle Events noted, “For the AACA car club, 2020 meant a major hurdle to club promotion and participation.  Their Fall Hershey meet was canceled as were many other key events for the club, but with Fall Carlisle happening, the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and the main stage made for a perfect spot for them to showcase some cool vintage cars, motorcycles and promote their 2021 event in Chocolate Town, USA!

“In addition to their cool cars and recruiting efforts, there were many AACA vendors peppered in and around the automotive flea market too, meaning more pre-war pieces, parts, merchandise and collectibles for sale.”

Engine-powered items for sale

In addition to buying and selling everything from cars to parts and pieces, Carlisle Events noted that visitors to Fall Carlisle were in a giving mood and were generous in their deposits into donation bins for Project SHARE and for the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County.

Although Fall Carlisle ends Carlisle Events summer car-show and swap meet season, the team stages an indoor AutoMania sale January 15-17 and then heads to Florida for the Winter Autofest at Lakeland, Florida, February 19-21, 2021.
