A 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 owned by Luca Somigli from Las Condes, Santiago de Chile won the inaugural Collector Car Community Contest. ClassicCars.com showcased 16 collector cars from their Instagram audience in a head to head bracket competition to find the best of the collector car community.

In the first round Luca Somigli and his 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 faced off with a 1968 Shelby GT500KR, then the 1930 Ford 5 Window coupe, following with the 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340, with over 1,000 votes in the championship round facing off with the 1971 Chevy Chevelle SS. Other participants included a variety of vehicles such as a 1972 Porsche 911 T, 1996 Toyota Supra, 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited and more.

“The variety of submissions was impressive to see, it was a direct reflection of the diversity in the collector car community,’ Marketing Manager of ClassicCars.com Rebecca Nguyen says. “Over 1,000 votes shows our community is active and engaged in the passion we collectively share as car people.”

According to Nguyen, “This won’t be the last contest held by the ClassicCars.com team, stay tuned for the next one and don’t miss your chance to compete with other car collectors around the world.”

  1. As a lifetime & current multiple GTO owner, I’m very pleased to see a lil brother win this contest. Luca’s Firebird has the motor, the stance, the obligatory hood tach, and period rims- and presents well in orange.
Congrats, brother! Keep the Pontiac faith.
This could have absolutely been a fixture in my Indianapolis, IN highschool parking lot between ’74 and ’78, and brings me back.
