Our updated list of automotive events impacted by the global pandemic

-

The coronavirus pandemic is having a major impact on automotive events, many of which are being canceled or postponed. Here are the latest announcements:

  • Leake Auctions has postponed its upcoming Tulsa, Oklahoma, sale from June 4-6 to June 26-27.
  • Bonhams has moved its auction scheduled for the Bonmont club in Cheserex, Switzerland, from June 14 to September 20. Bonhams says it will offer a docket of more than 70 vehicles at the sale, which was inaugurated in 2019 and produced the world-record price for any Lamborghini.
  • The Sandhills Motoring Festival, originally scheduled for May 22-24 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, has been postponed until September 4-6.
  • The Detroit Grand Prix, which was to include Indy car and Trans Am Series events on Belle isle Park on May 29-31, has been canceled.
  • Mini has postponed its “Mini Takes the States” cross-country road rally scheduled for July 18-26 until the summer of 2021. The event was to follow a route from Burlington, Vermont, to Spartanburg, South Carolina. More than 3,600 cars took part in a 2018 event in the Rocky Mountain region.

“For the benefit of our Mini community and everyone that we’d come in contact with along the journey, in the cities and towns and on the back roads, we have made this very difficult and emotional decision.” said Mike Peyton, Mini of the Americas vice president.
