“Automobili Lamborghini is against any attempt at counterfeiting,” the Italian automakers chief marketing and communications officer, Katai Bassi, announced in a news release.
“However,” she added, “a true story of such authentic passion deserves to be featured, which is why we chose to tell of Sterling’s and Xander’s project in our 2019 Christmas video.”
Released on December 23 was the annual Lamborghini Christmas video, which this year features Sterling Backus of Erie, Colorado, and his 12-year-old son, Xander.
After playing video games in which they drove a Lamborghini Aventador SV, they started what has been so far a 2-year project to build a replica, using a 3D printer to produce parts.
“A few days before Christmas father and son open the garage door and find a real, black Aventador S instead of their replica mode,” Lamborghini says in its news release.
“Having proven with their project to be the most ardent Lamborghini lovers, they get to drive the car for some days and enjoy their very own Lamborghini experience.”
Bravo Lamborghini! This is what marketing is all about! Just because of this I will now buy a Lambo instead of a Ferrari (when I win the lottery).
Grazie!
