Speedy Graphito Porsche headed to auction

-

Car collectors certainly consider their vehicles to be works of art, but it takes something special for a car to be included in an Urban & Pop Contemporary art sale. That’s the case with a 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Club Sport that occupies Lot 324 in a sale May 5 in Paris.

All proceeds of the sale will go to the Guérir le cancer de l’enfant au 21e siècle (Cure childhood cancer in the 21st century) charity supported by the Foundation Gustave Roussy.

The car is — quite literally — a work of art, covered with original graphics by Speedy Graphito.

Speedy Graphito is the working name of French Street Art movement pioneer Olivier Rizzo, who became influential in the 1980s and beyond with urban and graffiti artists.

Until the auction, the car is on display at the hotel Dassult on Champs-Elysees.

The auction is being conducted by Artcurial, parent company of classic car sales specialist Artcurial Motorcars.
