ClassicCars.com sponsors Formula Drift Pro2 driver for 2019 season

-

ClassicCars.com will be a primary sponsor of Andrew Schulte ‘s 2019 Formula Drift Pro2 season, it was announced Thursday.

“Andrew is an up-and-coming driver and we’re extremely pleased to support him in his first Formula Drift Pro2 season,” ClassicCars.com President and CEO Roger Falcione said. “This sponsorship is just one move we’re making to start reaching younger audiences and enthusiasts who want to become part of the tremendous classic car culture. We can’t wait to see him on the track.”

Schulte, a 26-year-old native of Lakewood, Ohio, competes in a 1993 Nissan 240SX. As typical with the racing world, the stock engine has been removed in favor of a Lingenfelter-built 427cid LS7 that should make in the neighborhood of 700 horsepower once it’s completed.

Though his No. 216 “Itasha” style S13 is his racing vehicle, the Universal Technical Institute graduate also has a 1978 Alfa Romeo in the garage that was given to him by his father.

“I am extremely excited to be working with ClassicCars.com going into the 2019 season,” Schulte said. “For a company like ClassicCars.com, which shares my passion and wants to get involved in the sport, I think is a huge step in the right direction and really shows just how strong and unique the drifting community is. I am humbled and beyond excited to wear the ClassicCars.com logo going into the 2019 season.”

Schulte will compete in four events this year: Orlando (April 25-27); Atlanta (May 9-11); St. Louis (August 8-10); and Dallas (September 12-14). He will also participate in others. All of the events are streamed via CBS Sports Network.
