“Little Red”, one of two Shelby GT500 notchback coupes loaned to Carrol Shelby by Ford, was found in Texas following a determined search by Craig Jackson (Barrett-Jackson Auctions) and Jason Billups who determined the car’s serial number (7R01S133947) was what was needed to identify the car rather than the Shelby designated number. The car along with its cousin, the Green Hornet (found at a Ford employee auction in 1971), was used as a test bed for a potential Shelby model, but was never produced. The Green Hornet was sold at a Barrett-Jackson Auction in 2013 for $1.9 million. Little Red is slated for restoration in the coming year
