1961 Norton, 1941 Indian top H&H Classics’ motorcycle auction

A 1961 Norton Manx 40M sold for $40,206 and a 1941 Indian 741 Scout sold for $32,547 to top  the sales chart at H&H Classics’ most recent and season-ending auction, held December 9 at Britain’s National Motorbike Museum.

Two-wheelers spanning 9 decades were offered at the sale, which posted an 80 percent sell-through rate.

Speaking of the Indian, Mark Bryan, head of motorcycle sales for H&H Classics, noted that, “I never cease to be amazed at the following these (Indian-brand) bikes have.”

The other top sales of the auction were  a 1983 Harley-Davidson XR1000 that brought $18,762 and a 1983 Honda CB1100RD that sold for $16,848.

Prices quoted include buyer’s fees.
