Award-winning 1980 Fiat 124 2000 Spider

-

For the 1980 model year, Fiat offered its 124 2000 Spider with the buyer’s choice of carbureted or fuel-injected 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine. Pick of the Day is one of those 1980 Fiat 124 2000 Spiders, and an award-winning one at that, equipped with the fuel-injected powerplant.

According to this immaculate car’s advertisement on ClassicCars.com, the Spider has undergone some effective suspension upgrades, including lowered springs, Koni shocks, Chromadora wheels, new A-arms, rear links, etc., all within the last 6,000 miles.

Other changes include exhaust, rebuilt engine and differential, new timing belt and idler, new water pump, master cylinder and booster.

The result, says the private seller in Mount Gilead, Ohio, is a car that, “is a blast to drive. Go-Kart handling with the power to make it interesting.”

Interesting, and impressive, what with the car winning Judge’s Choice honors (against all marques) at the Mid-Ohio Vintage Concours, where it was runner-up for People’s Choice.

The asking price is $14,500, which the seller says is “less than some experts have recommended.”
