Offered without a reserve during Barrett-Jacksons Palm Beach auction, this rare, early, factory-built walk-through 23-window Volkswagen Microbus is powered by a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder engine with 36 horsepower delivered through a 4-speed manual transmission.
The entire vehicle, including the engine, is detailed to a very high level. It comes equipped with a European locking steering column, rare accessory full-circle horn ring and button, dealer-accessory sapphire push-button radio, the correct spoon latches, and correct Firestone wide whitewall bias-ply tires with correct wheel-trim rings.
This optional five pop-out-window bus features the original colors of Sealing Wax Red and Beige Gray with the original safari windshields. The immaculate blue-gray interior also has a correct mohair headliner.
