A 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T SE led the bidding at Mecum’s collector car auction last weekend in Seattle, where total sales reached $9,517,676.
The restored Plum Crazy Challenger, a true R-code car with four-speed manual transmission, sold for a high bid of $185,000 (sales results do not include auction fees). The second-highest sale was for a modern exotic, a 1999 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster that hammered at $170,000.
The much-anticipated sale of five American muscle cars from the John Wickey Collection totaled $630,000, led by a 1968 Ford Shelby GT500KR Fastback with 12,160 miles for $165,000, and a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro for $155,000.
Nearly 600 cars crossed the block at Seattle, although the sell-through rate was not available from Mecum.

6. 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T at $150,000.
7. 1967 Shelby GT500 fastback at $142,500.
8. 1956 Mercedes-Benz 190SL roadster at $140,000.
9. 1992 Porsche 964 Turbo S2 at $130,000.
10. 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop at $120,000.
