Touring to offer U.S. its limited-production coupe, convertible

Sciadipersia will be limited to 15 hand-build, custom-built in each architecture

-

Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera has announced that its limited-edition Touring Sciadipersia model will be offered in the U.S. market as a coupe or cabriolet. The company also said it is in the process of establishing a U.S. dealership network.

The company, based near Milan, Italy, says its Sciadipersia is hand-built and custom-made as “an innovative interpretation of the gran turismo theme: a car designed for long journeys, where the passengers derive as much pleasure from the journey as the driver.”

Only 30 will be available, 15 of each version. The cars are based on the rolling chassis of a Maserati Gran Turismo.

Touring said the Sciadipersia is “large, powerful, and luxurious, but cleverly designed to disguise its size. Mastery of design and craftsmanship lighten the appearance, adding an ethereal, diaphanous quality.

“Innovative, bucking the current trend for aggressive treatments, Sciadipersia reverts to a sporting style subtly hinting at the Seventies: the low-slung front, clean side surfaces with edgy junctions, and a substantial tail.”
