A trio of Lamborghinis will lead the docket at Silverstone Auctions’ upcoming sale later this month.
A 1996 Lamborghini Diablo SV that was the former Alpine Radio press and show car, a one-owner 1974 Lamborghini Espada Series 3 and a 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640-4 Versace Edition – one of 20 made – could fetch together as much as £430,000 ($560,000), Silverstone says in a news release.
“Lamborghini has always held a special place in car enthusiasts’ hearts, and the adrenaline and excitement delivered by a Lamborghini is unmatched by any other manufacturer,” Arwel Richards, a classic car specialist at Silverstone Auctions, said in the release.
“Born from a tractor manufacturer and an argument with Enzo Ferrari, the raging bull has grown to become the prancing horse’s fiercest rival. The quality of cars on offer from Lamborghini is incredible, and they are always an exciting addition to our auction catalogues.”
The earliest car of the group is a classic 1974 Espada Series 3. With only 26,000 miles on the odometer, the coupe includes its original tool kit, jack and spare wheel, along with an original pair of Lamborghini Cologne leather-bound flasks.
The Espada has been maintained by qualified mechanics using Lamborghini parts, including a transmission overhaul and cylinder-head rebuild, and was retrofitted with an electronic ignition system, high-torque starter motor and braided fuel lines, according to the auction description. The car has an estimated value of £90,000 to £110,000 ($117,000 to $143,000).
The 2007 Murcielago is one of just eight examples with right-hand drive. It was first sold in New Zealand in 2007 and was brought to the UK last year. The special-edition car was finished in Aldebaran Gloss Black with a Nero over Bianco leather interior.
The Murcielago, with its 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of 613 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque, is valued at $150,000 and £170,000 ($196,000 to $222,000).
The 1996 Diablo SV, one of just 33 right-hand-drive examples, has been in long-term storage since 2007. Its 5.7-liter V12 is capable of 517 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. The estimated value is £130,000 to £150,000 ($169,000 to $196,000).
