Lot #748 at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction is a 2018 McLaren 720S, a first-year, limited-production example of the second-generation Super Series supercar.
The 720S accelerates from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds, reaches 124 mph in 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 212 mph. It will do the quarter-mile sprint in 10.3 seconds.
This is a highly optioned 720S with the Performance Package, sports exhaust with extensive McLaren Special Operations factory additions, including carbon fiber throughout the interior and exterior. The car has a dry weight of 2,917 pounds.
Empowering this McLaren is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that produces 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired to a 7-speed McLaren dual-clutch automatic Seamless Shift gearbox.
Exterior features include special-order Black Amethyst paint, carbon-fiber mirror arms, rear deck engine covers, sill panel, diffuser and aero bridge. The exposed carbon-fiber MonoCage tub is a beautiful contrast to the finish.
