-

Featured on AutoHunter.com, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG. When new, it was sold by Prestige Motors in Paramus, New Jersey and had a total retail price of $125,940. It comes with the power of a Kompressor supercharged 5.5-liter V8 and sends it to the road through a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch AMG wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose audio system, and an Active Body Control suspension. Finished in Pewter Silver and equipped with a power-retractable hardtop over an Ash leather interior, this R230 SL comes from the selling dealer with owner’s booklets, a window sticker, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title.

The Pewter Silver exterior features a power-retractable hardtop as well as bi-xenon automatic headlamps, vented front fenders, and a rear diffuser.

A set of 18-inch AMG wheels is wrapped in 255/40 front and 285/35 rear Continental ExtremeContact Z-rated tires that were installed in 2022.

Inside, the cabin is furnished with heated and ventilated 12-way power-adjustable Ash leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, woodgrain trim, and floor mats. Features include Keyless Go, power windows, speed-sensitive power steering, Distronic adaptive cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, a COMAND infotainment system with Bose audio and navigation, and the Parktronic parking assistance system.

Vehicle information is displayed on a 200-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and coolant temperature and fuel gauges. The odometer shows 75,725 miles, which is in line with the 75,723 miles shown on the CARFAX report in May 2024.

Under the hood is a Kompressor supercharged and intercooled 5.5-liter V8 that was factory-rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to the road through a five-speed automatic transmission with AMG Speedshift technology. According to the selling dealer, the engine and transmission mounts and the battery were replaced within the last two years.

This SL55 rides on an Active Body Control suspension with an independent four-link front and an independent five-arm multi-link rear setup. Power anti-lock disc brakes help reign in the AMG power, which can be heard through the four rear exhaust outlets.

The auction for this 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG ends Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. (PDT).
