Fender’s Custom Shop, partnered with Lexus, has announced the launch of 100 limited edition Fender Lexus LC Stratocaster guitars built by principal master builder Ron Thorn.

The guitar is finished in an omnidirectional Structural Blue paint, the same used on the Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series, that creates a spectral range of light metallic blue to deep midnight blue.

Fender’s Custom Shop, partnered with Lexus, has announced the launch of 100 limited edition Fender Lexus LC Stratocaster guitars built by principal master builder Ron Thorn.

“When we saw the first iteration of this Stratocaster, we couldn’t believe how well it matched the original LC 500 Inspiration Series,” Vinay Shahani, vice president of Lexus marketing, is quoted in the automaker’s news release. “Seeing our Structural Blue color represented in this Stratocaster guitar illustrates endless possibilities of creativity, and we’re honored to have been a part of this creation.”

As explained in the video below, the Structural Blue color was inspired by the Morpho butterfly’s incredible blue wings and took Lexus more than 15 years to replicate.

The guitar’s neck s fashioned from 3A flame maple and finished in a high-gloss urethane.

A first for the Fender Custom Shop, the fingerboard is made of a deep-blue polished Richlite, a composite material notable for its tonal properties and structural stability. The fingerboard also has a flatter 12-inch radius and 22 medium-jumbo stainless-steel frets.

The pickguard, made from twill carbon fiber, is designed to match Lexus’s rear spoiler and houses custom machine-brushed aluminum knobs to match the knobs used in Lexus’s sound system.

“As a deep car enthusiast, this was a fun project to build off. We went bold with the technical specs to make this model a living Lexus guitar. I can’t wait to see how everyone rocks out to it,” Thorn says.

This limiter-edition custom guitar is priced at $6,000.
