It comes as no surprise that organizers of the United Kingdom’s “Royal” Concours d’Elegance confirm that the 2016 edition will be held at Windsor Castle. Windsor was the site of the inaugural concours in 2012 and the 2016 gathering will celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday and the diamond jubilee of her reign.
“With gracious permission of Her Majesty the Queen…” is how the news release began.
The concours is limited to 60 vehicles and is scheduled for the September 2-4 weekend.
Since its founding, the concours, with Prince Michael of Kent as patron, has been held at St. James’ Palace, Hampton Court Palace, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland.
