1988 BMW E30, 1970 Dodge Challenger get Meguiar’s SEMA showcase

Meguiar’s booth at the SEMA Show annually provides a display for a couple of customized vehicles that not only shine from the use of the company’s car-care products but that show the state of the custom-car industry. This year, those vehicles “come from different parts of the world, are two very different builds from completely different genres, yet they are a perfect match for the brand,” Meguiar’s said as it revealed the cars.

The cars are a 1988 BMW E30 and a 1970 Dodge Challenger known as “Havoc.”

The BMW is a collaboration between Ross Gredys & Kyle Ray of Rebellion Forge Racing and Eric Penelow & Khyzyl Saleem of LTO (Live to Offend).

“Ross has been doing amazing fabrications for over a decade while Kyle, who has done previous SEMA builds, has been a driving force in taking Rebellion Forge Racing to the next level with his extremely high standards and quality of work,” Meguiar’s said.

“Khyzyl has been creating breath-taking renderings and designs for years, and is the visionary of LTO, while Eric employs his branding and productions skills taking the vision and turning it into a tangible reality. Last year at SEMA, LTO revealed an aggressive E30 highlighting their bold and beautiful body kit.”

The result of their collaboration is “an extreme 1988 BMW E30 with custom modifications and subtle touches to almost every single aspect of the car from the inside out,” Meguiar’s notes.

Power for the tube-frame car comes from a 6.0-liter LS V8 engine. The body kit, which LTO plans to put into production, wears an Olive Green shade inspired by the newest Porsche GT2 RS.

The 1970 Challenger was built by Rob Zahabi of Rides by Kam and his three sons and some close friends. The car made its debut in Australia, where it own more than 20 awards, including those at Summernats and MotorEX.

The car is the third by Zahabi to be displayed at Meguiar’s SEMA booth. Its engine is a 9.4-liter Hemi Big Block. The car sits on a Roadster Shop chassis with full air suspension by RideTech. The all-steel interior is covered in custom brown leather and the car’s exterior wears PPG Vibrance Range Charlie Hutton Collection Slanted Brown paint on the lower portions with a custom mixed upper color.

The SEMA Show is a trade-only event not open to the public, except for its final-day drive-out event, that runs November 5-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
