1950 Chevrolet Fleetline would fit just fine at SEMA

-

It’s SEMA week, which means around 150,000 people involved in the automotive aftermarket will gather in and around the Las Vegas Convention Center to see a few thousand customized vehicles and to look at all the parts available for such work.

SEMA is short for Specialty Equipment Market Association and its annual showcase is a trade show that is not open to the general public, although there is a post-show bash Friday evening in a huge parking lot where anyone can see a few hundred of the cars that have been on display at the show. You’re also free to wander around the convention center parking lots during the show, though the really good stuff is inside.

The Pick of the Day is a customized 1950 Chevrolet Fleetline that looks like a show-quality masterpiece. The private seller, located in Calgary, Alberta, notes in the car’s advertisement on ClassicCars.com that the build cost more than the $31,000 asking price.

The car has been driven only 300 miles since its build — a 2 1/2-year process well-documented in photos that are part of the advertisement — was completed.

“All new body mounts, floor, suspension, drivetrain. Everything has been replaced with new parts and upgraded. No rust. Rare rebuilt 1969 350 sbc, Edelbrock intake, 650 Edelbrock carb, 700r4 automatic transmission with 2200 stall, new 10 bolt 3.42 posi. New mid-range comp cam, Sanderson headers, Magnaflow exhaust with functioning side pipes. Lokar throttle, kick down, dipstick, shifter, etc. Dolphin gauges. All new wiring harness and wires. New Coker wheels and tires, etc, etc. Have all receipts and documentation.

“Custom paint, black with clear and gold flake. All pin striping hand-painted by ‘Boots’ Olson before he passed.”

The interior also has been redone and is just as stunning as is the car’s exterior.

The seller adds that the car has been driven only 300 miles since the build was completed: “This car is completely done, nothing more to do except drive it.”
