Silver Auctions’ Spring in Arizona sale sent some 180 cars across the block. More than 100 of them were hammered sold, generating $1.475 million (including sales commissions).
Do the math and that figures out to an average transaction price of $14,469.
The most expensive purchase at the auction was $54,000 for a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette roadster. A 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible went for $52,920.
On the other hand, there were plenty of cars that sold for four figures.
High bids of the auction were $72,000 for a 1964 Corvette coupe and $66,000 for a 1940 Ford convertible, though neither of those figures met the owners’ reserve price. The sell-through rate was 56 percent.
Silver’s next auction is April 11-12 at Portland, Ore.
