Rodeo Drive Concours celebrates 25th anniversary on Father’s Day

-

The Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance, one of the most-high-end gatherings of classic cars in the U.S., celebrates its 25th anniversary with the annual Father’s Day show June 17 on that most-famous shopping venue in Beverly Hills, California.

Despite the prestigious vintage vehicles and potential celebrity sightings, the event remains free to the public, of which about 30,000 of them are expected to show up for the posh affair.

Another silver anniversary car will be this 1994 Bugatti EB 110 SS | Rodeo Drive Concours

To mark the concours’ 25th year, there will be a special class of silver cars, including such rare beauties as a 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic coupe by Ghia, a 1994 Bugatti EB110 SS from the Mullin Automotive Museum and celebrity-owned vehicles that include Hollywood director John Frankenheimer’s 1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III from the Petersen Automotive Museum.

“This year’s event will feature an unprecedented lineup of classic, exotic, luxury and supercars,” Bruce Meyer, chairman of concours, said in a news release. “As interest has grown over the last quarter-century, owners of world-class classic and sports cars have specifically chosen our concours to display their prized vehicles.

“Our Father’s Day show will reflect the diverse interests of the thousands of families in attendance, displaying only the best from each class.”

Roadsters in Pomona

The annual LA Roadster Show, one of the longest-running roadster and hot rod shows in the world, takes place June 15-16 at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. Note that this year’s two-day show is moved up a day to avoid conflicting with Father’s Day, according to the organizers.
