Automobili Lamborghini’s recent event, the “Giro Polo Storico,” held September 14-17, brought together international customers and their classic Lamborghinis. This tour celebrated the brand’s 60th anniversary while showcasing the enduring charm of these cars.
The event emphasized the importance of Lamborghini’s Polo Storico department, responsible for preserving the brand’s historical archive and ensuring the authenticity of classic Lamborghinis.
Federico Foschini, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, expressed, “This is a very important year for our company, and we are delighted to have celebrated it with the cars that have been so important in forming the history of the brand.”
The tour started in Franciacorta, passing through scenic areas like the Alto Garda Bresciano Park and Lake Idro before reaching Riva Del Garda. Notably, the tour featured a replica of legendary New Zealander test driver Bob Wallace’s “Jota,” built over thirteen years by an enthusiast from a crashed Miura.
The tour continued through Valpolicella, crossing the historic Visconteo bridge in Valeggio sul Mincio and stopping at Villa Sigurtà. The Countach LP 400 S, known for being the pace car at the 39th Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monte Carlo, was a highlight of the tour.
In Guastalla, participants visited Villa Malaspina Guarienti, an exquisite neoclassical-style estate with a rich history. A Diablo VT used as a “demonstration pace car” during the 1996 PPG Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) Indy Car World Series races was also on display here.
The tour concluded in Modena, where a gala dinner was held. The final day took place at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, with former employees sharing stories from their time working with classic models.
Alessandro Farmeschi, Lamborghini’s After Sales Director, emphasized the tour’s significance in preserving the brand’s history. Pirelli, an official partner of the event since Lamborghini’s establishment in 1963, also played a role in this celebration.
The “Giro Polo Storico” was a heartfelt tribute to 60 years of Lamborghini’s automotive excellence and a testament to the enduring appeal of the brand’s classic cars.
