Pride of ownership seems difficult to find these days. We live in a world where people lease a vehicle for a couple of years, run it into the ground, and turn it back in. However, a few people out there stay so committed to their vehicles that they keep maintenance in tip-top shape, even replacing engines and transmissions to keep a vehicle on the road at 443,964 miles and beyond. Case in point:

“Classic 1995 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup for sale,” the listing states. “Fully restored and kept in great shape. I bought the truck from the original owner in 1999 and I’ve been enjoying her ever since. She’s been a great truck, but I must seller her due to my age.”
This “OBS” (Old Body Style) truck comes from the fourth generation of the C/K Series, which launched in model year 1988 as a replacement for the “Rounded Line” generation that preceded it. It rides on the General Motors GMT400 platform which was widely used between the late 1980s and early 2000s to underpin Chevrolet and GMC pickups, the Suburban, full-size Blazer, Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade.
The seller provides a long list of upgrades that were carried out to get this truck to its impressive 440,000-mile odometer reading: In total, the receipts add up to over $45,000 spent. Mechanically, the truck has undergone a complete refresh. The 5.7-liter V8 was sourced as a crate motor from GM Goodwrench and has 43,335 miles on it. The transmission was also replaced and has 9,347 miles on it. The suspension has been overhauled, the air conditioning system was replaced, the battery is fresh, and the tires are newer. It sounds like this truck is ready to get in and drive.
Even though this is a workhorse, the interior of the cab looks like a nice place to spend time. The upholstery was replaced in 2021 with blue leather. Both inside and out, the photos of this truck give no clue as to how far it has been driven, and that’s a testament to the owner’s level of stewardship.
“She has been well cared for and should give another 24 years of service to the new owner,” the listing concludes. The asking price is $12,999 for this well-sorted pickup, which includes receipts for all the work performed.
