    • I had a 396, 1966 big block was solid cam changed it to L 88 cam Milda heads put pop up pistons for 27 Borg Warner clutch and pressure plate TRW racing transmission elder Brock Hailer high-rise in at 8:50 double pumper with a 12 bolt rear and heavy, suspension air shocks

  1. 1970 454/450 is and always shall be the correct answer…… best of the muscle era……. Consider it took over 50 yrs before Chevy made a production car with those numbers

  2. The 1969 Chevelle SS 396/375HP with factory AC has always been my favorite. It was a 2 year model that looked fast while parked and sounded like a beast when driving. It’s my dream car that will be in my driveway by 2023.

    • I don’t think the 69 Chevelle SS 396/375 with A/C comes from factory. Having the A/C over heats the 375 hp engine.

  3. 1967 ss396/375 built,chevelle 650 holly,elderbrock,454 heads,headers,munzi/hurst 4spd,positive trac,buckets black vinyl on red.
Paid $2000 in 1971.Sold it when I joined th Navy in 74.

  4. 1967, hands down. The sharp lines on it are exude the aggressiveness of the muscle car era. The way the front flares out at the fender ends is really what is so defining to me.

  5. 67 SS, prefer black over red or even blue guts. 396 / 4 spd. Never owned one but did a drive trade with my 71 Z28 350/ 4 spd. for a day. It was an amazing car.

  6. For me it would have to be 70 SS 396 w/L89 heads. I had an original L78 car in Fathom Green w/ 4 spd and most options. With the right gas and tune on the solid lifter motor it was a beast. From a rarity standpoint original L89 are few and far between.

  7. to me the ’66 /396 SS has the finest body style. had light yellow with black interior. had a bench seat/no buckets

  8. 69 restomod, was originally custom. Maserati blue, LS2 450 horse, QA1 A arms & coil overs 4 wheel disc, Ford 9” Detroit locker. Gorgeous & fun to drive. Should be finished next week!

  9. I bought a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 left over the car was ordered but the purchaser didn’t want it It was a real sleeper White with Black Stripes saddle interrior buckets 410 Muncie took off the medium rise and put on an Elderbrock High Rise this car was a real screamer

  10. 1969 who is the prettiest backlights on any Chevelle 396 with 4:56 sound like a milk truck high-pitched sound a quarter mile black exterior white vinyl roof white sport stripes the white interior the most beautifulest Chevelle I’ve ever seen neighbor Johnny Kayla View Street Street in Providence Rhode Island

  11. I had a 1966 Chevelle SS396 w/ a 396/360 engine. Paired with a Muncie M21 4Spd, and a 3:73 12 Bolt Posi. It was quick and a Ball to DRIVE

  12. 1967 Chevelle SS with a 396ci engine. It must be painted Marina Blue and have Cragers all around. An added bonus (just for show) would be little Wheely Bars extending out the back. Ahhhh, the perfect car!! 💪

  13. Love them all .but 1966 396 I was just given to clean out barn . Nice buddy. So 66 is my new favorite lm blasted with great friends

  14. My first car, a 1966 SS396/360 convertible w/4 spd, 3.73, Marina blue, blue interior, buckets with No console.

  15. 1968 Chevelle SS 396/375 grotto blue, Ansens all around Mickey Thompson N50’s in the rear. 373rear, ladder bars real beast. 12.9 quarters with open headers. Should have kept, no garage went to the military. What a shame. Looking for one now.

  16. I have always been a fan of the 1966 Chevelle SS having the 396 4bbl Holley carburetor sitting on top of it. It still turns heads!

  17. Had a 67 back in 67 and now have a 67 Malibu has 383 stroker 430 or more horses , turbo 350 trans and 9 inch ford rear end. So guess what it’s the 67 Chevelle for me

  18. 67 396 SS. My boss at the Shell Station had one and let me take it out. So fast, scared the C-rap out of myself. I ever I find one I can afford I’m buyin it. True muscle at it’s best.

  19. I had a white blue int 66 SS 325 396 4 spd bench seat . Still my fav. Also 69 blue 375 396 400 turbo layer converted to 450 hp 427 vette engine. What a beast !!!

  20. The First real car was 1969 SS396 Chevelle. The best looking I love that model look. The only thing I wish I knew back then was the 396/375 .Buy when you are 17 or 18 and that was a beautiful car, what canI say.
