When was the last time you saw an Opel on the road, much less a GT? Seeing one isn’t even the most interesting thing: the Opel GT was produced in two generations…with a 34 year hiatus in between. This AutoHunter Cinema feature shows us a 1969 Opel GT finished in silver-blue with a black bucket seat interior. Powered by the optional inline 1.9-liter 4-cylinder mated to the three-speed automatic transmission, the Opel GT was imported by GM and sold by Buick dealerships. Other features include power steering and brakes, console-mounted gauges, clock and modern Pioneer AM/FM cassette player.

I take it you don’t know why you don’t see many of these.
Interesting car. My first car (traded my motorcycle for it) was an Opel Kadett with the 1.1L engine. Beat the holy crap out of it for years til the trans blew. Saw a couple of nicely prepped hopped-up GT’s in magazines with boxed fenders and American V-8’s stuffed in. Never caught on tho.
