What is the best getaway car for the Grinch to drive while stealing Christmas? I’d lean towards something sporty with nimble handling, too much horsepower and of course some cool styling.
At Hennessey’s annual Christmas Tree Run the Grinch hit a 192 mph in a Venom 1000 Mustang GT500 with a Christmas tree strapped to the roof. The Grinch probably won’t outrun Santa’s sleigh in a 1,000-horsepower pony car but it should make quick work of most non-reindeer powered vehicles.
The Grinch’s Eruption Green getaway car features a hand-built supercharged 5.2-liter V8 with a 2.65-liter Roots-type supercharger. Hennessey’s augmentation of a stock Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 produces a 1,000 bhp and 850 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane pump gas, which is more than enough horsepower for a Grinch to steal Christmas.
Don’t treat the Grinch too harshly for stealing Christmas at almost 200 mph. Remember the holidays are a great opportunity for forgiveness, love, friendship, acceptance, and unity.
