Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8. According to the seller, it is one of two built by Tony Black of Keith Black Racing Engines. 

This Austin-Healey’s exterior was resprayed 20-years ago and features a black convertible top with a black top boot. The red exterior is complemented by a custom louvered hood, a chrome grille, and a chrome rear bumper. It also has a removable front bumper. This Austin-Healey rides on a set of polished aluminum 15-inch Cragar Pro Star wheels with 185/70/15 Riken Radial 70 steel-belted tires.

“The front bucket seats and rear seats were reupholstered with black vinyl in 2022,” the listing states. “Features include black carpeting; a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter; racing seat belts; manual windows, steering, and brakes; and a wood-rimmed Lecarra steering wheel.”

It’s powered by a 327cid Chevrolet V8 engine with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, a chrome air cleaner, finned aluminum valve covers, and a chrome alternator.

The engine is paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. During recent service the carburetor was rebuilt, the radiator being rodded out, repairs were made to a small leak in the rear end, and the oil was changed.

This Austin-Healey was upgraded with a nine-inch Ford rear drive axle, a custom drive shaft, a solid rear drive axle, and ladder bars.

The sale includes a clear California title in the seller’s name, an uninstalled front bumper, hood, and additional parts. The odometer indicates 31,000 miles but the true mileage of the vehicle is unknown.
