The Barrett-Jackson Houston auction docket is taking shape and a trio of highly-custom Mopar offerings caught my eye. These custom Mopars run the gamut from muscle cars to trucks and display the highest level of restoration and custom flavor.

An 8.4-liter V10 powered classic Plymouth? Dodge’s V10 engine is usually associated with the Viper but this 1971 Plymouth GTX Pro-Touring custom coupe borrows from that snake charmed sports car.

This custom GTX is nicknamed “GTX-R” and features a fresh build 8.4-liter V10 Viper engine that has been has a dyno rated 630hp and 660 ft/lbs of torque. The engine is paired with a Viper Magnum T56 6-speed manual transmission with a Billet yolk, 4-inch aluminum driveline, and a custom aluminum 8.75 third member with a 3.70 TrueTrac differential.

This custom build was completed by Horsepower Northwest and features Hellcat functioning cold air headlights, 14-inch Baer 6P power disc brakes with billet master cylinder, rocker exit exhaust system, and a fully welded chassis stiffened and braced throughout.

The exterior is finished in F8 Green with black fender-to-hood stripes and also includes flushed front and rear glass. This GTX rides on custom-made Satin Bronze Boze wheels, 18×8-inches in front and 19×11-inches in back. The black and tan interior is upgraded with Restomod Air heat and air conditioning, and the Classic Instrument gauges are customized with the GTX-R logo.

Not to be outdone by its younger sibling, this rotisserie-restored 1968 Plymouth GTX is powered by a FiTech fuel-injected 505cid V8 big-block engine with Indy Cylinder race heads, custom headers, and a polished aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The engine is paired with a floor-shifted three-speed automatic transmission. This Mopar has Polly bushings and Hotchkis Sport Suspension components.

The burgundy exterior is complemented by a new black vinyl top, new polished stainless and chrome, and a set of Magnum 500 wheels with BFGoodrich white letter tires adds to its vintage style. It has a fully restored interior with bucket seat, rebuilt gauge cluster, wood grain steering, and power windows. Amenities include a Vintage Air system with a polished compressor, and a JL Audio custom sound system is mounted in the finished trunk.

The last entry of this custom Mopar triple feature isn’t a GTX coupe, but a truck you wouldn’t be inclined to use for Home Depot runs. This 1983 Dodge D150 custom pickup features a Blouch Performance twin-turbocharged 318ci V8 small-block engine with FiTech fuel injection and a TurboWorks intercooler. The engine is paired with a 904 TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

It rides on a modified stock frame with stiffeners every 18-inches with tubular and adjustable control arms, dual adjustable coilovers on all four corners and a 4-link rear suspension. Four-wheel disc brakes with vented and slotted rotors help slow this Dodge truck.
