Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1948 Buick Roadmaster Sedanet restomod. The big Flint flyer boasts a full restoration that combines modern conveniences, vintage looks and upgraded powertrain consisting of a big-block 502ci V8 crate motor backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Notable equipment includes custom Intro wheels, a four-wheel independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and thoroughly modern interior amenities. Having been featured as a cover car for the Buick Street Rod Association, this custom-built Roadmaster is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Illinois title.
The Roadmaster two-door was restored from the ground up under prior ownership, which included custom touches like a conventional hood hinge setup, reconfigured wheel well openings, shaved door handles, swing-open fuel cap, inverted front bumper and the addition of quad VentiPorts. The seller has provided a series of photographs in the photo gallery chronicling the restoration process.

The cabin is custom-outfitted with late-model charcoal leather bucket seats. A center console sits between the reupholstered buckets, all of which are matched to a double-stitched leather dashboard. Amenities include items you would expect in a modern car such as Vintage Air air conditioning and heat, cruise control, power windows (including vent windows), tinted glass, tilt steering column with custom steering wheel, remote entry, and Kenwood KDC-MP438U head unit with USB/MP3/CD connectivity and remote control.
The Classic Instruments cluster includes a 140-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 18,000 miles, which reflects mileage accrued since the completion of the restoration though the chassis’ true mileage is unknown.
The installation of the fuel-injected Ram Jet 502ci big-block V8 required shifting the firewall six inches during the of restoration. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed 700R4 automatic.
The Buick sits atop an Art Morrison chassis featuring Kugel Komponents independent suspension both front and rear. Architecture includes tubular control arms and adjustable coil-over shocks up front, with dual coil-over shocks in the rear.
