Diego Rosenberg
Diego Rosenberg
Lead Writer Diego Rosenberg is a native of Wilmington, Delaware and Princeton, New Jersey, giving him plenty of exposure to the charms of Carlisle and Englishtown. Though his first love is Citroen, he fell for muscle cars after being seduced by 1950s finned flyers—in fact, he’s written two books on American muscle. But please don’t think there is a strong American bias because foreign weirdness is never far from his heart. With a penchant for underground music from the 1960-70s, Diego and his family reside in the Southwest.

  1. There was one I always saw driving by as a kid that had a giant inflatable Gorilla on the roof. That was my favorite.

  2. Whichever used the first air dancer tube man (yes, the actual name). Iconic. The dancing tube man and then the sun reflecting off the hoods of the displayed vehicles is a core memory for summer drives with my parents.

  3. Watkins Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealership in Waynesville, NC in the early to mid fifties. They had beautiful post cards of every different model.

  4. JIM Miller Chevrolet & Oldsmobile Genoa Illinois. Purchased my 2nd car there a used 55 Ford 2 door sedan, dark green, floor shift, 3 twos, a calif rake and a louvred hood. great car at 17.

  5. Reilly’s used cars. They always had cool cars like 67 chevelle427, firebirds, gto’s and all sorts of mopars. The sign is still there but the building isn’t

  6. Flatbush Pontiac in Brooklyn NY on FLATBUSH AVENUE, new GTO’s & Firebirds, 2+2’s, GP’s and Bonneville’s everywhere you looked. just a wonderful time!!
