Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1931 Chrysler Imperial CG Series roadster. This Imperial features a 145-inch wheelbase and is powered by a 384ci straight-8 engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Features include hydraulic brakes, dual side-mounted spare tires, rear luggage rack, folding cloth convertible top, mid-body storage compartment, and rumble seat. In the possession of the current owner for over 20 years, this red and maroon Chrysler Imperial comes from the seller with a clear Washington title.
This 1931 Chrysler Imperial is an exact replication of custom LeBaron roadster coachwork, of which only 100 were originally built in this series. Additional features include body-colored luggage rack and a single taillight.
A set of chrome wire wheels with chrome center caps are enveloped by whitewall bias-ply tires.
The bench seat, door panels, interior trim and rumble seat are upholstered in red leather. Features include maroon carpeting, floor-mounted shifter, emergency brake, body-colored steel dashboard with red leather top pad, and manual hydraulic brakes and steering.
A 100-mph speedometer, gauges for the fuel level, amperage, oil pressure and coolant temperature, and clock are mounted ahead of the driver.
Power is provided by a 384ci L-head inline-8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include a green cylinder block, chrome pushrod cover, generator, chrome steering column, cast-iron intake and exhaust manifold, and single-barrel carburetor.
The chassis was reportedly sourced from a CG Series Imperial sedan and features an I-beam front axle with a solid rear axle. All chassis rails and suspension components are finished in bright red. Braking is provided by manual hydraulic four-wheel drum brakes.
