Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this frame-off restored 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible.
The Corvette’s exterior was re-finished in Rally Red during the frame-off restoration. The crimson exterior is complemented by an L-88 hood with 427 emblems, and a white vinyl convertible top. It rides on 17” x 8” polished American Racing wheels with tri-bar center caps and General G-MAX radial tires.
“The bucket seats are upholstered with black leather,” the listing states. “The all-new interior features include black door panels with manual windows, new door glass and regulators, black carpeting with black carpeted floor mats, a black center console with a manual shifter, and a vintage-look modern AM/FM stereo.”
Under the hood is a 427ci big-block V8 engine featuring a FiTech fuel injection system, and an an Edelbrock aluminum intake. The black engine bay is complemented by an aluminum Holley Powercharger Hi Tek air cleaner, an aluminum radiator, a chrome alternator, and a polished air conditioning compressor.
The engine is paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This Corvette has a full-length dual-exhaust system, power disc brakes, and power steering. The suspension and chassis components, including the underbody, are finished in matte black.
The sale includes a clear Mississippi title in the seller’s name, and a hardtop.
