It has been a stalwart in the Chevrolet family for decades and in the late 1950s to the early 1960s it was a proper sleeper.

So dear readers, What is your favorite Chevrolet Impala?

Give us your take in the comments section. Like my high school history teacher always told me, “There are no wrong answers.”

My favorite? Chevrolet Impala SS.

  1. I’ve been blessed to have had several (’62, ’63, ’64, ’65, ’67, ’68, ’70, ’71) over the years. My personal favorite is the ’62 Impala SS. Would love to find a nice ’96 some day for a driver.

  2. My second car, purchased in the Spring of 1968, just before High School Graduation, was a 1964 Impala convertible.
It was a great car, too bad it wasn’t a Super Sport.

  3. Well being born in 58, I’m going with the granddaddy of Impala’s… the 1958 348 tri- power Impala hardtop or convertible. OG style.

  4. 1958 hands down Fantastic styling and quality. Un fortunately so many of the cutting edge offerings were flawed and hampered it’s popularity. “Air ride self leveling, 348 engine with that crazy offset wrist pin, transmission with Drive and Grade. But gorgeous cars.

  5. Always been a big fan of the original 1958 Impala. But IMO Chevrolet hot a high water mark with the 1963/64 SS and my all time favorite 1965/66 Impala. Still looks good after almost 60 years!

  6. The favorite Impala – it is the 1958 IMPALA – I have a 1958 IMPALA and love it, also have a BROOKWOOD WAGON and a 2dr. YEOMAN WAGON. Would like to find a 1958 IMPALA 2dr hardtop or convertible with original 6. Just love the 58 Chev especially the 2 dr wagons. ……………………………… PEACE OUT

  7. 1967. I own a Bolaro Red 67 convertible that I bought 40 Year’s ago in high school and original non SS 427 car. Paid $ 1250 in 1982

  8. My second car was a 1984 Chevy Impala. Brought it from my guy named “Pumpkin” off of 10th and school, R.I.P.. Talk about clean, and original everything. Color maroon. It only had a 305 in it, but that was my baby. I threw two 15inch super pros in the truck with my brother “S.A.(a black guy)”, tinted the bad boy up with 5% limo tint with my Cuz “Marice”, had the original 2inch white walls with original hub caps and toped it off with a “Black light” that clip on to the visor that plug into the cigarette lighter. Man jo…. I kno I was DOING IT.

  9. I had a 77 box chevy at 19. Now I still have my 2008 impala. I’ve been shopping for a premier. I love the Impala. Easy to fix and a wonderful ride for the cost.

  10. My first car was a 1965 Impala SS; 327 motor wouldn’t turn over… my father dropped a 396 into the engine bay. Maroon over beige… AM Radio with Reverb… it was an awesome first car.

  11. Bought my 85 1 owner 4 door Impala in 99 for a family car, After finding out that was the last year impala made that body style made me love it even more.
