Chevy is entering the NFT market

-

Chevrolet is making their debut in the NFT game with a one-of-one 2023 Corvette Z06-inspired NFT artwork created by the artist xsullo. The NFT is being paired with custom-painted Minted Green 2023 Corvette Z06 color-matched to the artwork and the set is being offered at the Own the Color auction with proceeds benefitting DonorsChoice.

DonorsChoice’s mission is to help teachers and to provide students with the tools and experiences they need for a great education.

“This is our company’s first NFT,” said Steve Majoros, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “We see ‘Own the Color’ as an important stepping stone for Chevrolet into future digital initiatives for our customers.”

“Own the Color” means Chevrolet will not apply Minted Green to another production 2023 Corvette Z06. The 2023 Minted Green Corvette is equipped with the Z07 performance package, carbon fiber wheels, a commemorative plaque, and will carry the option code RFN. Also, the VIN for this Corvette Z06 is inspired by binary code.

“The Corvette Z06 is an ambitious car that I totally vibe with,” said xsullo. “I’m drawn to how technology can make us feel, and I can tell the designers of Corvette Z06 draw from similar inspiration.”

Porsche is going to offer a special edition 911 for the North American market. The new 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America exterior is inspired by the 1953 356 America Roadster and will be finished in Azure Blue 356. The exterior features decals in white with Guards Red accents that read “America” along the doors, and the model designation on the rear features “911 Carrera” in white and “GTS” in Guards Red.

The cabin is replete with Guards Red and Pebble Grey cross stitching throughout the black interior. It also has illuminated door sill plates commemorating the 70th anniversary of the 356 America Roadster and the seat belts are finished in Guards Red.

“This is also the perfect time to add another ‘America’ model to our story as we look back on 70 years since the 356 America Roadster and 30 years since the 964 America Roadster,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America Inc.

The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer six-cylinder engine that produces a factory-rated 473 bhp and 420 pound-feet of torque. This Porsche will be available in late 2022 as a 2023 model.

Hennessey put its new VelociRaptor 600 through the ringer with its ‘Fire & Ice’ durability testing.

The most recent testing put the VelociRaptor 600 through severe driving conditions in the Southern California desert as temperatures exceeded 100°F with the truck traversing shifting dunes. Held at Glamis Sand Dunes the test included the VelociRaptor 600 climbing 300 foot high dunes.

The hot weather testing followed a set of cold-weather tests in Colorado, with temperatures dropping below 10°F. That test featured the Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 and Mammoth 1000 TRX.

“Our torturous ‘Fire & Ice’ program is the real-world culmination of hundreds of hours of research and development that each model line undergoes at our Texas headquarters,” said John Hennessey, company founder and CEO.
