Pick of the Day: 1958 Chevrolet Impala

A 1958 Impala with custom pinstriping

The beauty of loving cars is the simple notion that there is something for everyone. Wherever your tastes and preferences lean you can find the perfect collector car. Or you can buy a project and customize it to your liking. Keep it subtle, make it flashy. Just do your thing and love your project.

With that said, black with purple flames and lake pipes might not be your cup of tea but it’s perfect for someone.

The Pick of the Day is this custom 1958 Chevrolet Impala listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Mesa, Arizona. (Click the link to view the listing)

“The metallic purple consumes the full front end as it burns its way down the hood and sides. The flames are distinctly outlined with blue pinstriping, and that’s far from the only accent lines. There’s so much custom pinstriping covering every inch of this hardtop,” the listing states. “The now-hallmark triple tail light package has been upgraded with Cadillac-style bullets.”

The extensive pinstriping on the rear deck, hood, across the doors and throughout this Chevy turn it into rolling art. It’s a highly unique package that could never be duplicated. It’s a true one-of-one with many customs details that reveal themselves when you look at this Impala from different angles and perspectives.

The Impala’s stance is adjustable to the preferences of the driver by virtue of an air ride system that is adjusted by controls under the dash. It rides on wire wheels with whitewall tires, including the spare.

“The white interior has a distinctive style on the door panels, seats, and headliner. This was built to be a true cruiser, and so high-traffic areas like the carpeting and steering wheel are done in black,” the listing states. “The artful Impala steering wheel now has auxiliary readouts around it, including a handy tach on the column.”

The engine bay features extensive chrome work and polished accessories. This Impala features a 348ci V8 tri-power engine paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.

The asking price for this 1958 Chevrolet Impala is $59,995 and with it’s extensive custom work it’s a pretty solid deal.

  1. ’58 Impala, first year, one year only body. Richie Cunningham had a white w/red pinstripes ’58, ’59 Caddy tail light bullets like this. An underrated oldie but way goodie.
