1987-Buick-GNX
Only 547 examples of the 1987 Buick GNX were built – a limited-production salute and send-off for the groundbreaking Grand National.

After the demise of many General Motors brands Buick is still here and making some great cars.

So dear readers, What is your favorite Buick?

Give us your take in the comments section below. Like my high school history teacher always told me, “There are no wrong answers.”

My Take? Grand National

  1. 1964 Buick Skylark!
White on white w baby blue roof!
    Bought it in 1967
My first car and Absolutely loved it!

    • My first car was a 65 wildcat conv. Loved it. Parents
Had a 68 Electra 225 that I drove the heck out of. I love
      The 1965 Riviera my favorite.

      • 63 to 68 riv, 65 wildcat and 66 electra 225 2dr split rear window. And 65 to 67 skylark gran sports. Worked at a family owned Buick dealership Dealership so i drove all of them.

  2. 1956 Special . My mother had a ‘56 Special when I was born and I spent the first few years of my life in it so it is a sentimental thing.

  3. 1970 Buick Wildcat. 455 ci and super fast for full size car. Had the good fortune my dad bought one
For our family car. Dad liked his cars. Also had 66 Grand Prix. Hope I had a little influence
    Ha

  4. 1958 Roadmaster convertible or Riviera. Love the Delta wings and did have a 1964 Electra 225 coupe wonderful power and rich red leather. What a cloud ride!

  5. Any ’70’s 455 Boattailed Riviera, GS the best. No one saw it coming, and the design makes Monte Carlos of that era look dated on the showroom floor. In 2022, styling still holds up. A landmark design, if not very practical.

  6. My Daddy’s 1950 Buick Roadmaster, blue, four holes, with the hood opening from the side, either side. My Daddy died when I was 12, and my Mom had to sell that car, and part of my Daddy went with it.

    • Sorry to read that Bill, just thinking about it hurts my heart. I drove a 52 Roadmaster at one time, it was beautiful. Even the ride was a little different than the 48.
I had a 48 Roadmaster 2Dr Sedanette with a 1950 engine in it. The 50 had a noticeable difference in power over the 48 engine. I had that Buick for 39 years, and finally sold it in 2013.

  7. My ’71 GS Stage 1 was the best! Sold it long ago and although I have owned several vintage cars since then – and own several collectibles now – I still miss that one….

  8. 1973 Electra 225, 4 door, the 455 had the power and all the comfort you could need. I’ve had 3 of them, now looking for another one.

  9. The 66 or 67 Buick Riviera GS. Very beautiful car that had huge amounts of power and all the amenities you could get in that era.

  10. Oh yeah I had a black 65 Riviera GS that I really liked. But the 66-67 Riviera GS I mentioned above was a better car to drive.

  11. 1970 Buick GSX stage I with the 455 and ram air or a 68 wildcat or 225 white with the red interior and convertible

  12. the 1967 Buick Riviera had beautiful graceful styling, a new modern 430 c.i. engine, les heavy handed front end than the ’68. I want one! 2nd place: the 1948-49 Sedanette.

  13. 1963-65 and 1966-69 Rivera.
IMO the early Rivera was a high water mark for GM and an all around beautiful car. The original personal luxury automobile! I drooled over these as a kid. And still want one today.

  14. 1968 Lesabre, my 3 sisters and I all got our driver’s license with it!

A Riviera of almost any vintage

    Any model convertible

    And then a Skyhawk fastback

Is the Opel GT considered a Buick here?

  15. 1965 Skylark two door hard top
My first car. Bought it from when in high school
    Was demolished during a storm
    Love to find another

  16. Hello to all.
My favorite BUICK is the 1953 BUICK SKYLARK in just about any color without a continental kit.
The 53 Buick Super was a super car to me in 1964. I was 11 years old, and my Brothers 53 Super was a total freak. The 322 Nailhead/Dynaflow transmission in Drive would smoke the a rear tire so bad. He had to let off the throttle to clear the smoke away. In 1967 I saw the first 53 Buick Skylark. I’ve been in love with them ever since. I had a chance to fix one up in 1975, my Brother wouldn’t sell it to me. It ended up as a scrap vehicle. My heart still hurts about that.

  17. 1972 Buick Centurion convertible. Not many made but the lines are awesome. 455 engine, it’s a beauty. Just aren’t that many around anymore.

  18. 1981-87 Regal followed by 55-56 Roadmaster. I had an 87 Regal Limited years ago that was in almost perfect condition. Plush leather bucket seats, V8/4 bbl carb. Gorgeous car and rode like a dream! I should’ve kept it.

  19. My Favorite Buick,is the one that I am fortunate enough to own.
    It’s a Showroom Quality,1972 Buick Riviera,Boattail,Gran Sport……Totally
    Stock,with a 455,4 Barrel. It is 100% Complete.
It took me several months to find one, with all
the features I was looking for.It is Charcoal Mist
Exterior, with Black Bucket Seats w/ Console.
It had been in a gentleman’s collection, for the
Past 30 years,in Scottsdale, Az…..so it is rust
free. It’s definitely my dream car,and I feel so
Blessed to have found a vehicle,50 years old, that
looks and drives, like a New Car.

  20. Yes I am the guy from the hagerity barn find with 35 Buicks most of my cars are 1950 to 1956 Buicks all series roadmaster is my favorite but special is second Buick built great cars then

  21. Had a 1989 Lesabre T-Type with the dependable 3.8 6cyl. Unique interior, wheels, and body details only the T-Type had. Owned it for ten years from new with almost zero problems. Afterall it was a Buick. Would love to find another to ad to the collection, they are tough to find. Only made for three years

  22. As a young kid about 8 or 9 years of age 1969 – 1972 Buick Park Avenue Convertibles there were many awesome colors to choose, man talk about a choice to choose from.

  23. My 66 Wildcat & 69 Electra 225. They were wonderful cars to drive. I’m currently bringing back to life a 2 door coupe. Moisture has ruined the top. Now I need to find a roof. Any suggestions please?

  24. I have two favorites: The 1969 Electra 225 & 1973 Electra 225. My parents had a ’69 Dark Autumn Gold with Vinyl top and light beige interior. What beauties!

  25. Have to love the austentaios styling of the Boattails. Being the owner of a modified 72, I still have to say the 71 is the best example.

  26. What I currently own. A Grand National.
What I would love to own. 1970 GSX(Saturn Yellow of course),1957 Roadmaster, 1963-64 Wildcat 2DR,1965 Riviera and of course my dream Buick the GNX!
