A documented one-owner classic car is a white whale for many gearheads. You’re always searching for one and like Ahab it can became a personal conflict with a difficult resolution. The chase never ends from barn finds at auctions to late night internet searches with different key words. The hunt is difficult, but the possibility of a reward is a strong motivation.
The Pick of the Day is a one-owner 1985 Nissan 300ZX available for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Concord, North Carolina. (Click the link to view the listing)
“The original warranty card shows this was sold brand new only about two hours from our showroom,” the listing states. “It’s a coupe that has stayed with this original family for nearly 35 years. It has only recently left the original dynasty, and because that was only to a dealer, your name will be the first person ever on the title that’s outside the original family.”
This 300ZX is finished in its original red and features T-tops. Under the hood is a fuel-injected 3.0-liter V6 engine that’s paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.
“The leather front bucket seats feel great, and continue the survivor feeling, right down to the 300ZX stitching in the backs,” the listing states. “You’ve got great factory features like power windows, power locks, power side mirrors, a rear defogger, and a rear wiper. Plus, you have provisions for the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo and air conditioning (they will need servicing before fully functioning again.)”
This 1985 Nissan 300ZX is available for $18,995 and the sale includes the owner’s manual and original warranty card.
The JDM and future classic car markets are on the rise and this 300ZX could be a solid choice to enter those segments. As a documented one-owner classic someone’s chase could finally be over.
