Custodian helps car owners keep track of service records and documentation

-

Owning a classic car is wonderful, but keeping track of the vehicle’s records and knowing when your registration or insurance fees are due isn’t a lot of fun. A new app by Custodian helps car owners organize and track the maintenance aspect of vehicle ownership by maintaining and organizing records.

“Loving your car is easy, but car ownership isn’t,” said Charles Clegg, Custodian co-founder and CEO. “Custodian was founded to remove a lot of the traditional annoyances of car ownership by applying fresh-thinking and cutting-edge technology to the age-old problems of admin and looking after specialist cars.”

The app is intended to act as digital history file for a vehicle that can be shared with prospective buyers and the files can be transferred to the new owner. Reminders can be set up to notify you when vehicle registration and insurance are due.

Information stored in the app will not be sold to third parties and Custodian does not allow advertisements on the platform.

My restored Chevy C10 came with a binder of receipts and documentation of the build, but as is often the case paperwork can go missing. In time I will likely part ways with the truck and to validate my claims of vehicle maintenance to any prospective buyer a digital record depository would come in handy.

During my former days as a claims adjuster, I lived by the simple ethos; “If something isn’t documented, it didn’t happen.” It’s kind of an untrusting motto but served me well when dealing with the facts of a car accident. That notion continues with any car purchase.
