Seven classics featured during Muscle Car Day

AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com launches its second annual Muscle Car Day – a promotion in which 7 muscle cars take over the docket with auctions beginning Wednesday, April 6 and ending Wednesday, April 13.

Muscle car prices are on the rise. At the recent Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, a 1967 Ford Mustang custom fastback selling for $330,000 and a custom 1969 Chevrolet Camaro had a $275,000 hammer price.

Here are 7 classic American cars included in AutoHunter’s Muscle Car Day:

This rotisserie-restored Mopar has been with the same owner for 22 years and has been refinished in Lime Light Green with a black vinyl top.

The interior has white vinyl front bucket seats with a matching rear bench seat. A black center console with woodgrain insert houses the pistol grip shifter. Amenities include a thumbwheel-style AM radio with iPod integration and an 8-track player. 

Under the hood is a rebuilt 440cid 6-pack V8 (E87) engine that has been bored .030 over. The engine is paired with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission.

1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

This custom Chevelle received a rotisserie restoration in 2015 and was upgraded with a roll cage, RideTech air suspension, and staggered-diameter forged aluminum wheels.

Under the hood is a FAST dual-quad fuel injected 502cid V8 engine that has been ported and polished. The engine was upgraded with ceramic-coated headers, a large camshaft, a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual fans, and a Vintage Air Front Runner Kit. The engine is paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and a Moser Engineering positraction rear end.

1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Restored in 2011, this Q-code Mustang Mach 1 is finished in Dark Green with full-body Mach 1 stripes and Mach 1 lettering. It has a dark green interior with front vinyl bucket seats, fold-down SportsRoof rear seat, and a Custom Autosound radio.

Power is provided by a 351cid V8 Cobra Jet engine with an aftermarket Edelbrock aluminum intake and a 4-barrell carburetor. The engine is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.

This Pro-Touring Chevelle is repainted black with white stripes and has a black automatic retractable convertible top. The reupholstered interior has black vinyl front bucket seats with a matching rear bench seat, center console, door panels, and carpeting.

Under the hood is a big-block 454cid V8 engine with a performance cam and an Edelbrock air cleaner. The engine is paired with a rebuilt Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission.

This rotisserie-restored Camaro is re-finished in its factory-correct Daytona Yellow with black hockey stick stripes. The black vinyl front bucket and rear bench seats have white houndstooth inserts that are complemented by the black door panels and center console.

Under the hood is an upgraded 454cid V8 engine equipped with high-performance rectangular-port heads, roller rocker arms, a Winters aluminum intake manifold, and a 750cfm Holly Double Pumper 4-barrel carburetor. The engine is paired with a numbers-matching Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with a casting code of 3894860NF.

1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS

With a 5-year restoration this Camaro RS/SS has been upgraded with an adjustable suspension, 17-inch Billet Specialties wheels, and a Wilwood braking system.

The exterior is finished in 3-stage metallic burgundy over a custom black leather interior.

Under the hood is a Street Performance fuel-injected 355cid V8 engine with Dart heads, 1.6 roller rockers, a COMP roller cam, a serpentine belt set up, and Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers. The engine is paired with a rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, and a posi-traction rear end with 4.11 gears.

1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula

This Firebird Formula is finished in orange with a black vinyl roof over a reupholstered black vinyl interior. It features power steering, power brakes, and rides on aluminum wheels. The sale includes the uninstalled original wheels.

Under the hood is a 400cid V8 engine paired with a console-shifted Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
