Selections from the George Shinn Collection are going to be offered at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction. More than 30 vehicles will be available for sale and the selections include Resto-Mods, hot rods, and modern sports cars.
“Like myself, George has been passionate about cars since he was a child, and he has amassed an impressive collection over the years,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “His select offering in Palm Beach is reflective of the incredible quality and diversity featured throughout.”
Highlights from the collection include a Charcoal Pearl 1958 Chevrolet Corvette 283/250 convertible that recently received a body off restoration and is powered by a fuel-injected V8 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.
Resto-Mods include an Elkhart Blue 1967 Chevrolet Corvette powered by a new Chevy LS3 aluminum V8 engine paired with a TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission. The chassis was upgraded with front and rear coilover QA1 shocks, Hyperco springs, a set of Van Steel tubular A-arms, and a Wilwood disc brake system. Amenities include a Vintage Air climate-control system and a modern radio that appears factory original but features USB, MP3 and Bluetooth capabilities.
“The quality of the work and craftsmanship that went into restoring and building many of the cars in George’s collection is second to none,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson.
A 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S with only 152 actual miles will be available. Finished in Designo Selenite Grey Magno, it features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces a factory-rated 515 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an AMG 7-speed Speedshift dual-clutch transmission.
Barrett-Jackson’s 2022 Palm Beach Auction runs from April 7-9 at the South Florida Fairgrounds.
