Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 1981 Jeep CJ7.
“This 1981 Jeep CJ-7 four-wheel-drive SUV is a frame-off restoration equipped with a carbon fiber hood and tailgate, new axles, auxiliary front lighting, powder-coated differentials, Fuel wheels, BFGoodrich tires, power disc brakes, and Amp Research power side steps,” AutoHunter notes in the listing.
This Jeep’s exterior was refinished in silver with body-color fender flares, chrome Smittybilt tube bumpers, and a DJI 4X4 light bar above the front bumper.
The quilted black leather Sparco front bucket seats and rear bench seat have contrasting stitching. Amenities include SSBC power steering, Vintage Air A/C, and a center console with a Ford automatic shifter.
Under the hood is FiTech fuel-injected 355ci Chevrolet V8 engine with MSD ignition. The engine is paired with a rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
It rides on 8-spoke 12″x20″ chrome Fuel wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2.
This CJ7’s auction ends on February 14, 2022, at 12:40 p.m. MST., and the sale includes build receipts, and a gray soft top with plastic windows. The CARFAX report shows the vehicle was involved in an accident in July of 1989 that did damage to the front end.
